Would you like to make a presentation at the 25th AFMLTA International Languages Conference?

Submissions open 15 November 2024 and close 14 February 2025.

The conference will be held from 11-13 July, 2025 at the National Wine Centre and City West Campus of the University of South Australia (UniSA) in Adelaide.

Presentations on any topic in the broad spectrum of Languages education are welcome, including:

  • Languages education – early years to senior years
  • Engagement and motivation in the languages classroom
  • Differentiation and inclusive pedagogies
  • Languages curricula- models and practices, including classroom practice
  • Languages pedagogies
  • AI, digital learning, and gamification in Languages
  • Languages and literacy
  • First Nations languages
  • First Nations language and culture perspectives across the curriculum
  • Languages education policy, plans and strategies
  • Translanguaging, transknowledging and transcultural research, practice and perspectives
  • Languages teacher education- initial teacher education and in-service education
  • Professional learning and mentoring

 

 

Presentations will be 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour, and sessions will be scheduled during the following times:
– Friday 11 July (Horwood Address only)

– Saturday 12 July (8:30am – 4:30pm)

– Sunday 13 July (8:00am – 1:00pm)

Presentation content must be relevant to teachers of languages and should be presented in English or with English translations as applicable. Full presentations in a language other than English will need prior approval.

Submissions open 15 November 2024 and close 14 February 2025. Acceptance of presentations will occur on a rolling basis. Those submitted in November or December will receive notifications of outcome by the end of January, those submitted in January and February by the end of March. A draft program will be available in April or May 2025, with time allocations subject to change. Updated drafts will be provided as prepared. Final times will be subject to change as needed to accommodate all presentations and presenters.

Presenters whose workshop proposals are included in the program are able to register for the conference at the Early Bird Rate. All presenters will need to register for the conference.

Please note presentation titles, abstracts and bios may be subject to minor editing by the Academic Chair to ensure consistency and clarity.
